Risk mitigation is at the core of everything we do, from project design through to delivery and handover.

Mitigating the level of risk involved in delivering complex projects on sites that are often in full production is a critical part of what Techo does. Common factors that increase risk include tight timelines, a small project footprint, often in an area containing operational process equipment, and deadlines such as first milk which is akin to an "unstoppable force".

A key phase of any project is the HAZOP. Techo can significantly increase the value of the HAZOP for complex projects by utilising 4D technology to provide an accurate simulation of the project delivery from start to finish

4D simulation links a 3D drawing of the project to the project schedule. Presenting the project in the 4D environment allows stakeholders to view the project delivery at any point in the schedule, from any angle and zoom level. This makes the HAZOP far more engaging, efficient and effective, enabling highly collaborative and productive planning and decision-making to be achieved.

The increased level of understanding that 4D modelling provides delivers a range of important benefits including:

• Risk mitigation. This can include install related issues plus health & safety, quality and environmental issues
• The ability to identify "pinch points" in the project delivery, e.g. where multiple activities may impede upon each other, or operations in their vicinity.
• High risk activities involving specialist equipment, such as crane lifts, can be included and analysed.
• Stakeholder input can benefit the project safety throughout its installation and operational life.
• Ensures all stakeholders “are on the same page”.

The result is an efficient and safe project that achieves the desired outcomes.
