Project Type: Waste Water Treatment

Waste Water Treatment Plant

Fonterra in 2015 decided to invest in a new Drier on the Pahiatua site to meet milk growth in the Lower North Island area.

As part of the investment, Fonterra wanted to increase its capability and capacity to effectively treat the dairy factory wastewater.

A new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) was designed by consultant Beca and issued to Techo Ltd (Process Construction) and Fulton Hogan (Ponds Construction). The project was on a very tight timeline which required completion of the installation before commissioning of the new Drier.
